Grow a Garden – Blood Moon Mutations Guide (Lunar Glow Update)

Alongside the launch of the Lunar Glow event, the developers of Grow a Garden introduced the Blood Moon event — bringing with it a fresh batch of exciting content. Players can explore new crops, pets, gear, and some powerful plant mutations.

While many of these additions are tied to the event and won’t stick around forever, the mutations are a permanent upgrade and can be obtained even after the event ends. Among the most valuable are Bloodlit, Celestial, Zombified, and Disco — each significantly increasing the value of your harvested crops.

🌑 All Blood Moon Mutations in Grow a Garden

Here’s how to unlock each of the new Blood Moon mutations and apply them to your plants for major profits:

🔴 Bloodlit Mutation

About: Bloodlit is the flagship mutation of the Blood Moon event. When active, it quadruples the value of your fruits, making even basic crops incredibly profitable.

How to Get It: Wait for the Blood Moon night event to appear (roughly a 1-in-3 chance). During this time, some of your crops may randomly receive the Bloodlit mutation, which turns them a glowing red.
Pro Tip: Use the Night Staff during Blood Moon nights to boost your chances of mutation.

🌠 Celestial Mutation

About: The Celestial mutation is permanent and can massively increase your profits — multiplying a crop’s value by 120x.

How to Get It: This mutation is triggered during nighttime Meteor Shower events. If a falling star lands on your crop, it may become Celestial.
You can also use a Star Caller — a special tool from the Event Shop — to summon falling stars to specific tiles on your farm. Be sure to collect them while the event is active, as these items may not return.

💿 Disco Mutation

About: Disco is currently considered the best mutation in the game, surpassing even Rainbow and Shocked. It boosts your crop’s value by a whopping 125x.

How to Get It: Disco weather is a rare condition triggered exclusively by the developer Jandel. When it happens, you’ll hear “Raining Tacos” by Parry Gripp and see your crops flash with vibrant rainbow colors — a clear sign your farm is in Disco mode.

🧟 Zombified Mutation

About: Zombified crops sell for 25 times their normal value and have a spooky look to match.

How to Get It: Place the Chicken Zombie on your plot — it will slowly infect your crops with the Zombified mutation.
Note: The Chicken Zombie was an exclusive reward from the initial Blood Moon event and is no longer available through standard gameplay. However, you may be able to trade with other players who still have one in exchange for mutated fruits or rare pets.
