Builder Base – Clash of Clans

Starting at Town Hall 4 in Clash of Clans you can fix-up the Boat at your shore to travel to a place far, far away. Brace yourself for an adventure! The new village, the Builder Base is similar to your original village, but you might notice some differences:

  • It’s always nighttime!
  • The Trophies and Resources you’ve gained in your original village don’t transfer over. Each Chief must begin making a name for themself from scratch in this mysterious new place.
  • You might recognize the troops, but they have Special Abilities that unlock as you upgrade them.
  • You don’t need any elixir to train troops for battle, only time.
  • Some buildings and traps look familiar, but might work in new and exciting ways.

A new way to battle!

The rules for battles are a bit different in the new village. Chiefs go head-to-head in Versus Battles, attacking eachother’s villages at the same time. The Chief who scores more stars wins, and if tied the highest destruction percentage wins!

Some additional details:

  • You always attack a player who is online, and this player will in turn attack you.
  • Chiefs are matched based on their Trophy count in the new village
  • To lose a battle doesn’t mean that you lose resources, you only lose Trophies.
  • In the case of both Chiefs scoring the same star amount and same destruction percentage on the opponent’s village, a Draw is called and neither player wins anything.
  • You don’t have a chance to “Next” an opponent found for you
  • Loot rewards for victories are determined by a Chief’s trophy amount. Gain more trophies to get access to better loot rewards!
  • After 3 wins Chiefs will need to wait out a cooldown period before they can battle for loot again.

A skilled Chief remembers to balance his offensive capability with his defensive capability. Remember to keep developing your Builder Base’s layout and defenses, as well as upgrading your troops!

  • You can Gear Up buildings in your original village to benefit from the technology from the Builder Base.
  • Share battle replays with your Clan for bragging rights and help on strategy
  • Winning Versus Battles will also help your Clan reach notoriety as it positively impacts your Clan’s ranking on the leaderboards

Rewards & Trophy ranges

For each victorious Versus Battle a Chief gains a loot reward determined by his own Trophy range. Gaining more trophies will move you into a higher Trophy range, which will in turn yield greater loot rewards. The current loot rewards as well as the rewards of the next Trophy range can be seen by pressing the “i” icon in the Versus Battle screen.

Once a Chief gains his 3rd win, he will receive a Bonus Loot reward with this win. The “3-Win Bonus” text indicates the total amount of loot that the 3rd win will give.

Loot Reward Cooldown

After gaining 3-wins, a 22-hour timer begins before Loot Rewards for wins become available again.

Once Loot Rewards are available again a new 22-hour countdown timer starts running behind the scenes. This timer counts down even while you work on gaining the 3 wins. When this timer reaches “zero”, Loot Rewards will become available again.

If at this time you are still working to get the 3-wins, once you do get them you will immediately be able to get Loot for 3 more wins. However, you can only “stack” two 3-win runs for loot, after which you will need to wait 22-hours.

What is Gearing Up?

Chief, the new village’s defensive buildings have new and exciting technology. Gearing Up means configuring a building in your original village with this new technology of different firing modes. You can bring Geared Up buildings to Clan Wars and Friendly Challenges – just be sure to check which mode you have configured in your layouts!

To Gear Up a building in your original village, simply tap on it and see if the Gear Up button is available.

There are some rules to Gearing Up buildings, usually for the building in your new village as well as the old village. Press the Gear Up button to see what you need to do in order to Gear Up your buildings.

It is worth noting that Gearing Up a building in your original village occupies the Master Builder from the new village for this period.

Why do I see blurry graphics in the game?

It is very important to keep Clash of Clans application size as close to 100 megabytes as possible, becacuse this allows you to download Clash updates without connecting to Wi-Fi.

Clash of Clans has content over this limit however, so some of the in-game graphics aren’t downloaded until you are looking at them inside the game. This means that after updates you might see blurry graphics inside the game, but before you know it they should be replaced by high quality ones. The graphics are downloaded while you play the game.

So don’t worry Chief – we’re commited to maintaining the high quality of Clash of Clans graphics now and in the future. After updates we might need a moment though to show all of them to you.
