Starting at Town Hall 4 in Clash of Clans, you can repair the Boat on your shore and set sail for an adventure to a new, mysterious land. This new village, the Builder Base, shares similarities with your original village, but there are some key differences to discover:
- It’s always nighttime!
- Trophies and resources from your original village don’t carry over—each Chief starts fresh in this new place.
- The troops may look familiar, but they come with special abilities that unlock as you upgrade them.
- Troops no longer require Elixir to train; only time is needed.
- Some buildings and traps may appear similar, but they function in unique, exciting ways.
A New Way to Battle
The battle rules in the Builder Base are different from what you’re used to. In Versus Battles, Chiefs attack each other’s villages simultaneously. The goal is to score more stars than your opponent to win, and in case of a tie, the highest destruction percentage wins.
Key Battle Details:
- You’ll always face an opponent who is online, and they will attack you in return.
- Chiefs are matched based on their Trophy count in the Builder Base.
- Losing a battle means losing Trophies, not resources. Loot doesn’t come from your opponent, but from your own Trophy range.
- If both Chiefs score the same stars and destruction percentage, it’s a draw, and no one wins anything.
- There’s no option to “Next” an opponent, so you’ll face whoever is assigned to you.
To succeed, a skilled Chief must balance their offensive and defensive strategies. Keep upgrading your Builder Base layout, defenses, and troops to stay competitive!
Rewards and Trophy Ranges
When you win a Versus Battle, you earn loot based on your Trophy range. Gaining more trophies pushes you into higher Trophy ranges, unlocking better loot rewards. You can view the current and upcoming rewards by tapping the “i” icon on the Versus Battle screen.
After three victories, you’ll earn a Bonus Loot reward, indicated by the “3-Win Bonus” text. However, after three wins, there’s a cooldown period before you can claim loot again.
Loot Reward Cooldown
Once you’ve earned three wins, a 22-hour timer starts before Loot Rewards are available again. Even as you work towards your next 3-win streak, this timer continues to count down. After the cooldown ends, you can start earning loot again, but you can only “stack” two 3-win streaks for loot before the cooldown applies.
Gearing Up
The Builder Base introduces new defensive technology that can be used in your original village. Gearing Up a building in your main village allows it to benefit from these new technologies, which offer different firing modes. You can bring Geared Up buildings to Clan Wars and Friendly Challenges. However, it’s important to note that Gearing Up requires the Master Builder, who will be unavailable for other tasks while upgrading buildings.
To Gear Up a building, simply tap on it to see if the option is available and check the requirements.
Why Do I See Blurry Graphics in the Game?
To keep Clash of Clans’ file size under 100MB for smoother updates, some in-game graphics may initially appear blurry after updates. These graphics will be automatically replaced with high-quality versions as you play. Don’t worry—this is temporary, and we’re committed to ensuring the highest quality graphics for all your Clash of Clans adventures!
